What happens if it’s raining?
We train in the rain! In Sweden we have a saying ‘there’s no bad weather, only bad clothes’, so dress for it and I promise you’ll enjoy the shower after even more. There’s also shelter at Burrows so we can get cover. If there’s a massive storm with lightning I will cancel and inform you that morning and we will do a Zoom class instead.

Do I need to bring any equipment?
I supply all the equipment required. I use a wide range of equipment including dumbells, kettlebells, slam balls, ropes, bands and barbells to keep things fun and interesting. However, you might want to bring your own mat. If you have boxing gloves feel free to bring these as well on boxing days as it’s always nice to wear your own but don’t worry if you don’t have any as I have spares.

Is everyone else super fit?
This challenge is designed to cater for a wide range of fitness levels. Each session is designed with different levels so you can work to your own capacity.

It feels a bit expensive
Sure you can sign up to a big gym paying less a week but if you were like me a few years ago that was my biggest charity, I simply didn’t use it or only sporadically meaning the cost per use was really high. With the “Ultimate Kickstart Challenge’ you will receive a lot more than just training sessions, you will get all the tools and support from me and a new community of like minded women to help keep you accountable to kickstart your healthier life.

What if I can’t make it to a session?
You will be provided with an exercise plan with over 20 exercises so you can pick one and make up the session in your own time. 

I don't lift weights and am scared of getting bulky - will this happen?
NO!  Strength training does not make women "bulky" due to our lower levels of testosterone (all those women with huge muscles have been training in a specific way for YEARS) BUT it will help turn your body into a fat burning machine (ie boost metabolism), give you awesome shape,  get tight and toned, make you feel stronger in addition to all the health benefits for resistance training for women.  Once you get on the strength training train, you won't look back

What results can I expect in 8 weeks? How will we measure progress?
First of all, I’m not a huge fans of using scales as it fluctuates so much based on water intake, time of month, etc and it doesn't take into account the muscle you're adding or fat you’ve lost. Also for many women, we tend to get obsessed with the number and this challenge is all about making you look and feel amazing.
However, we will be using progress pics and measurements to monitor progress in the challenge (these are privately kept for you). There will also be performance based measurements with an initial benchmark test and additional tests in week 4 and 8. Results will vary based on many factors in your current lifestyle and health history but it’s possible to lose 2-10kg, reshape your body, rebuild your confidence and most important make healthy living your new norm.

​Will I need to stick to a strict diet plan?
No this is not a strict diet plan because I know that this doesn’t work, you deprive yourself, lose weight but it hasn’t taught you healthy habits and the diet is not sustainable long term so a few months later you’re back exactly where you started. Instead you will be provided with healthy guidelines, a delicious meal plan and weekly challenges to see what that feels like for you.

My name is Kajsa Humphreys and I’d love to help you get fitter and healthier.

Around 6 years ago my lifestyle was very different to what it is now. I hadn’t exercised regularly for years, I was eating whatever was quick and easy that I cooked for the kids and I was very disconnected to myself and my goals.

I decided to join a gym but to be honest I found the gym rather intimidating and I wasn’t sure exactly what to do. I preferred classes but I felt I would have liked more support in terms of technique and I felt the gym lacked a social connection. Just going to the gym didn’t do anything to improve my diet or lifestyle either.

During that summer I joined an outdoor challenge program and loved it. I was training outdoors with a bunch of people I really enjoyed spending time with. I also learnt more about food and lifestyle changes to live a healthier life. This was the beginning of a lifestyle that eventually led me to starting my own health and wellness business. I now want to create something similar to help more women discover the benefits of a healthier lifestyle, not just to lose weight, tone up and build strength but also to improve energy levels and sleep, get into a better headspace and improve overall wellbeing. Hence, I’ve created the ‘Women’s Ultimate Kickstarter Challenge’, a complete program with everything you need to kickstart your healthier 2021.
